I have a strange beast called the DISCOVERANGE which is a 91 RRC But the Interior, 4.0lt V8 manual, Chassis, Driveline, Suspension & all electronics are out of a Disco II (2000 model).
I've heard of Nanocon, Rovacom, Testbook, Faultmate & good old standard OBD I & II but I'm confused. I've searched the forums but there doesn't seem to be a definitive list of what does what to which model.
I want to get be able to retrieve and reset codes for the following.
- Engine ECU
- ABS/TCL ECU
- Cruise ECU
- SRS ECU
I also want to be able to register keys and the remotes.
Cheers,
Robbie

Hiya wozzlegummich
I noted your request for help and clarification of the different systems availiable almost two weeks back, so please do not regard my decision to answer and help you personally as some attempt to instantly pounce on any possible sales opportunity. But as i see it, all the other options you mention are really limited and inflexible and in any event funtionally far less capable.
As the initial designer and developer of the well know and most capable BBS diagnostic equipment, i obviously know my stuff, but more importantly, am right here, and am most happy to help you and anyone as best i can.
Technically, we can certaily provide you the degree of diagnostic access and capability you require on all the systems you have fitted and mention, however given the uncertain make up of your Discoverange, i am not sure if a single vehicle licence for a Disco II, which is the lowest cost option would work. You really would have to have a case of all the electronics of a Disco II being fitted, rather than the all electronics you have fitted being from a Disco II that you describe.
Perhaps you can start helping me to help you by providing me with an exact list of what Disco II ECU's you have fitted in your Discoverange to help me figure your best and lowest cost solution.
Hi Colin,
For all intents and purposes the vehicle is a 06/2000 V8 Discovery II. It has all the on board systems, SRS, HDC, ABS, CRUISE, Climate Control, Traction Control - It even has the original key with integral remote so the body module is functioning (I tested the headlamps on for 30 secs after locking function last night.)
I guess the best way to describe the the car is by saying that the only part of the car that is Range Rover is the bodyshell. Everything else including all module and wiring, chassis, driveline, barkes, interior, dash, airbags, seatbelt pretensioners etc is DII.
Cheers,
Robbie
I note that the ECU i was most interested in, is missing from your list, IE BCU.
However as you mention that the body module is functioning with the origional key i will assume this is a simple listing oversight.
On that basis, i can confirm that our Single vehicle software should accept your Discoverange as a Disco II and provide all its extensive capability and functionality as such which is of course not only what you list you require but vastly more.![]()
Yep - the one on Ebay.
