Hi All,
Is Discovery 2 (mine's a 06/2000) OBDII compliant for the V8 engine ECU? (I know the US versions are)
I'm interested in getting some real time data out of it using a bluetooth OBDII scanner and some software (HERE) on my android phone.
Cheers,
Robbie
Been wondering the same thing lately, would any of the scanners from the US work on D2's or cars in aus in general?

Hey guys, take a look at this thread in it's entirety from July 2009:

I'm still using this generic bluetooth OBD-II reader on my 2000 V8 Auto Disco.
(edit: mines an Oz model too)
It's no where near Nanocom type standards, but is excellent for generic codes.
Has helped me out a number of times already in diagnosing issues.
I've found it to be well worth the very cheap price.
So you CAN use an OBD-II generic reader in the V8, but we've also tried it in a forumites TD5 of the same year and spec, but it wouldn't read the TD5 ECU.
Usually have mine plugged in whilst on trips as a "real time" monitor. Very happy with it.

Thanks Aussie - There is a lot of interesting android/iphone apps available for OBDII & bluetooth with more coming out. Maybe the Nanocom guys can look at writing an app for the 3 amigo's and TD5.
Then all you'd need would be the app, a phone and the dongle.

Bearmach distribute the Hawkeye. Have been contemplating one of these lately over the Nanocom mainly due to the fact that it should also hook up to the 14CUX I have in my RRC with an extra lead.
Problem is, its a per licence unit meaning one each for my RRC and my D2a and I don't think it has the programming ability of the Nanocom for the D2.
Rovacraft flog the Hawkeye for about $550.
Hawkeye manual is below. Doesnt really say much but Rovacraft seem to be getting out of the Nanocom and more into this unit.
If I find out more, will let you know.
Cheers
Andrew.
