Have you downloaded the PC software from the website???
Should connect the same as the Nanocom 1 and give the same results....
Nanocom Evo arrived on Monday 20 September.... Hoping to have a play Thursday and do all the registering and backups!!! How do I add my location to the Nanocom owners register ?
I had a 15 second look at the PC software (In the middle of exam study)
It looks like the PC software requires a serial port to talk to the Nanocom, which the Evo does not have.
Unless there is a trick to making it talk over USB?
Also, the Evo appears as a flash drive natively when connected to a host so I suspect it isn't going to be quite so easy. Nor is there any mention of connecting the Evo to PC software on the Nanocom website.
I will be ecstatic if I am wrong though. Being able to use the netbook display would be great in the car.
I will have a closer look this weekend once I have some free head space.
Pete
have you tried to contact the vendor?
an email will probably answer all your question and no guess work at all!
If I eventually buy a nanocom their email will be glowing hot with any questions that I need to ask
Just do it and wait for replys and of course let us know the results :D
I hae just emailed Mattia on the above plus queried when the manual will be out.
Will post his reply when it comes.
Regards
Andrew.
If there is enough interest from Defender and Disco owners, I'm happy to have a serious chat with Mattia about Hard Range becoming an Australian distributor for Nanocom, especially now that he is introducing support for P38 Rangies as well.
It would potentially give some good balance to the other diagnostics stuff we do.
We'd need to get enough of a discount from him so we can sell it at a competitive price to getting from Italy, but with the advantage of 1-2 days delivery to most of Australia. That is the same principle I work on for FaultMates, EAS Buddy's and ABS Amigo's.
So, if there are half a dozen folks who are keen to go, I'll make the call and see if we can get some local stuff happening. Drop me a PM or send me a message through http://hardrange.com
Cheers, Paul.

Good Luck with that......
Sent several emails, even order requests, never ever hear back, which is a common occurence apparently.
I dunno how you other buggers got a reply or an Evo.
Just bought the 'old' Nanacom and will make do with that. ;)
I emailed Mattia about whether or not the new Evo will allow us to alter the boost cut-out control at the ECU for D2s and it was 8 days later I got a reply.....
Oh and for the record the boost control cann't be altered. 8-(
Hi all,
Ordered the nanocom evo on the 17th, it arrived on the 27th.Went to register it and as usual my failure to read the instructions properly meant that I was unable to enter the machines ID.Due to the good wife being away with the D2 I then found a power source of the right specs to recover the ID only to be told FIRMWARE DISK not found ,No restore file found,Reboot system, Now I am severely limited in my understanding of things electronic but I if it was referring to the 2GB flat card then it was inserted in the top of the unit. If anyone can tell me what this means and how to "reboot" this system I would be most grateful although I will probably have to email Italy.
