Older Nanocom (v1). Can't find NanocomSetup2xxx.ZIP file in Downloads.

Hi - have just unpacked my Nanocom and would like to download the files to make it run with my laptop. I've searched the Nanocom threads here but none the wiser.

Note: this is an older version (I bought it about a year ago, but only just got around to unpacking it).

There is a slip of paper in the box which says to get NanocomSetup2_xxx.ZIP, but buggered if I can find it on their site.

I have logged in with my device Id and got to the restricted area, but that only presents me with the option of upgrading the firmware to 2.04, and mine is already 2.05. I was expecting some sort of setup CD program with some drivers perhaps.

So, where do I go to get the PC software download?

    Thanks
    David

BTW - I can plug it into the 130, and read codes & etc, so the unit itself is working ok, although I see there is a whole new model out now called the Evolution ......

    Hiya David
When you enter the downloads section of the Nanocom.it site, it defaults to providing you the contents of the user guides section. What you need to do is select the "Software for PC" section from the short menu on the left.

This will give you this page

    :: Download - Nanocom ::

Where you can download the USB driver and PC software for the Nanocom one

2.05 apparently had a Bug in it that caused it to be removed and customers advised to wait for 2.06, hence why only 2.04 is currently provided for download.

There is indeed a new Nanocom Evolution unit which is completely different and owners of these should not regard any of the above information and software as being relevant to their systems.

You can find info on the bug via google.
Apparently it was bricking a few units during the upgrade process. If yours is loaded with it, it should be fine.

Thanks for that info Colin. Now that you have pointed it out, it is obvious

I presume I download these 3 to get it working on my laptop:

Do you recommend that I 'downgrade' to v2.04 on mine? I had someone over yesterday with a Disco II trying to read their SLABS unit to reset the "3 Amigoes" problem (3 warning lights on dash - for ABS issue I think), and my unit would not read this info. We kept getting a "Failure to initialise communication with the ECU" error. See the last few posts on this thread for the things we tried: http://www.aulro.com/afvb/discovery-...ide-hills.html

Thanks again for your assistance - much appreciated.

Yep all there, but its easy to miss

    Those would be the 3.
Not sure about the Graphic viewer though, or what it does as i have not played with it and i actually have little to no experience with usage of the Nanocom one's

Not sure what your communication error might be, but there are no general communication issues known with V1.05, so i would not downgrade it.

Do not downgrade. The communication problem is not in Nanocom, it is a problem between Nanocom and the ECU. Just try switching the ignition ON and OFF and try the Nanocom again. There is some system how to switch the ecu into remote communication - by Nanocom, but the ecu must be in some "state" for correct inicializatoin of communinication. Same problem can be when switching between ecu's - sometimes I must switch the cars igtion off and on. The Nanocom Evo is better, but the old one works OK.

OK - Thanks for that advice. I'll keep it at 2.05.
