As far as I can tell they are the original. There is no mention of them being replaced in the service history that was handed over. The car has now done 258,000km so I'm not complaining. My next step is to replace both sensors and see what happens. (I now have a spare MAF sensor for my personal LR stores.)

I replaced mine at 130KK in an M3,which is Motronic the same as a D2.
If you are a bit handy just buy generic Bosch Zirconia sensors on Ebay and splice the wires. They generally ask hundreds for a specific O2 sensor and you are just paying for the connector.
