ABS AMIGO fault clearing device - and recorder...

    Please see

    http://www.rswsolutions.com/index.ph...d=56&Itemid=55

Has anyone used or have knowledge of this. My Scanguage II will not interrogate and clear fault codes for the ABS system. This little device is said to clear the codes and record them and his site has a heap of info on what the codes are for and possible solutions. Looks like a good investment at under $200 Au given that most dealers will charge that just to use Testbook and wont usually clear them until they go replacing bits...

    Cheers

Here is another thread but doesnt say much - one fella got it and it did what it said on the box

I dont have a TDR nor air suspension, so it seems to me that this and the scanguage would be the only diagnostic and reset tools I would need into the future?

    Cheers

Storey Wilson of RSW Solutions produced software for resetting air suspension fault codes on RR Classic and p38 that is available as a free download. I have downloaded his EASunlock software and it works a treat- it enabled me to reinstall and reactivate EAS on my 94 RR that had been removed by the previous owner.
I would think that you can be confident in his other products, although I have no direct knowledge of this particular one.

Since you have the scangauge already, it's probably worth picking up if you can get it under $200.

Otherwise, I'd put in a bit extra and grab a nanocom (etc.). That way you not only read and clear the error logs, but you can physically test the system components too.

Thanks people. Really good to hear they work well. They look like they would do the trick.

What would Nanocom do that ABS Amigo + Scanguage II wouldnt do for a V8 (ie not TD5)...

    Cheers

Nanocom won't work at all on a V8................ sorry, my bad.

    Hawkeye would be one alternative

Should allow you to test wheel cyliders, sensors, shuttle valves, power bleed the system.......(looking for the hawkeye PDF I downloaded)

Not sure about not working for v8 D2...

Not completely sure, but I think that Nanocom modules relating to ABS and alarms work on V8 D2s. I used one on my brother's 1999 V8 to check and clear SLABS faults.

    Cheers
