It's under "Alarm System and Horn" pg 86-4-23

To exit this mode, switch on the ignition and simultaneously hold down the heated rear window and the rear fog lamp
    switch for 2 seconds.
Transit mode can be entered using Testbook.

    Nanocom Evo stops working

Hi, I purchased a new Nanocom about 8 weeks ago and at the start it worked fine in TD5 Instrument mode but over the past few weeks it sometimes turns but mostly doesn't. If it starts up it shuts down again within seconds to minutes. I have noticed today that when I came back to the car after it didnt start up this morning it was sitting their beeping regularly. Touched screen to start it and it restarted and then shut down again. Not very impressive as I use it to watch my coolant temp particularly when towing which was working fine. Now I am lucky if I can get it to start.
Any ideas on what to do or if anyone has a similar problem would be good to know.
    Thanks

I'd try contacting BBS support for a start.

Have you checked the connections to the OBDII port - it sounds like you might have a problematic +12 or GND.

If you have the Nanocom permanently hooked up be aware that it will always drain power from the OBDII +12V as this is not switched. Are you trying to start the Nanocom with the engine running?

    cheers

    Nanocom Feature Request

It's probably not possible as the unit doesn't have a battery back-up, but it would be nice to have a real date for the log and error files on the SD card rather than the default of 16/5/2005.

    Cheers

    Steve

It would be nice but would need a bit of extra hardware in addition to a backup battery. The unit would also need an additional RTC (real time clock) chip to be able to generate the correct time coding and to date stamp the files.

    cheers

    Nanocom Freezing

Not sure if its a Nanocom quirk, or just my machine!

I leave my Evo set up permanently in my wee beastie, and then most times touch switch it on at some stage after starting my engine.

If I switch off the engine (at which stage the screen freezes on whatever was showing in instrument mode) and then try to switch my engine back on before everything closes down, the screen stays frozen and I have to manually disconnect and reconnect my connector cable. If however I walk away and come back later, the screen is usually blank and I can touch start again. It does not appear to make a difference whether I remove the ignition key as per normal or not (the latter usually only when I park in my locked garage).

Is this a "normal" feature? (or maybe an outcome of the electronics of the D2a?)

The D2a was primarily a cosmetic refresh to keep buyers interested until the D3 hit the market. The electronic systems are the same as the D2, although some of the D2a ECU's may have minor firmware revisions.

When you turn off the ignition, the ECU shuts down and the Nanocom loses communication. Apparently the Instrument module will shutdown the EVO when it detects it has lost communication. Switching off and back on is most likely confusing the Nanocom software.

Holding your finger on the screen for about 10 seconds will restart the nanocom, easier than unplugging.

Gday this may help and it may not, i had an issue with mine starting, it was very slow and didnt register anything even on instruments, i tried to do the update even tho mine was the latest firmware and the evo would not reg with the pc when plugging it in, i had it all set up to send back for a warranty claim but i just stuck with it and pugged in and out for ages until the pc recognised it then did the update, it has worked perfect since, as i say this may help and it may not
