    msv2 remote access

    I have an faultmate msv2,If i hook up the msv to my laptop then to my home network and then to the net is it possible via windows remote access for a mechanic in another location to monitor\diagnose the ms2 readouts in real time,has anyone tried this.

    Whilst I haven't done this, in theory it's possible. The vehicle explorer software simply updates the screen which is then captured and passed to another machine on your network via the windows os.

    So long as your ip networking & lan security is all configured correctly it will work.

    Having said that it won't be quite real time, I suspect you'll come accross bandwidth limitations and loose a few ip packets along the way, if so you'd still be able to see the more static pages, it would just be the live data readouts that wouldn't refresh as quick as you may like.
