    NNN ECU PROBLEM

Hi all, I have fitted a later NNN ecu to my disco, I thinkits a 500020, ( Its dark outside but I can check if req)
All works well, except for the cruse control does not work, the ecu can not see the clutch switch ( maybe its an auto ecu ) and therefore wont engage the cruse, I have fitted anMSB ecu and cruse works fine
    any ideas

    Thanks
    Anthony

The NNN500030 is for the auto, NNN500020 is for the manual.

    cheers

If the cruise doesn't work you have the wrong NNN ECU in your Disco, I'd say you have put an AUTO NNN ECU in your manual Disco 2

The other reason could be you have a Defender file in the ECU instead of a Manual D2 file, they are different even though the ECU is the same, you can put a D2 file in a Defender, but you can't put a Defender file in a manual D2, the Defender file will work, but you won't have cruise control.

    As Offtrack has posted;

    AUTO ECU Part No NNN500030

Manual ECU Part No 500020, for Def and D2.

EDIT; Also the file must be an EU2 file

The NNN500250 is mapped for a TD5 manual with EU3 (MY02 onwards) motor and non-cooled EGR.

The only issue I can see is that there isn't a stock map file for the EU2 motor. My understanding is that the remaps are modified versions of the stock maps, so if you have a pre-MY02 D2 you be better off with either the NNN000120 or NNN500020 both of which have a stock map to suit the EU2 motor..

So, not quite sure exactly what you mean. But we started/idled the car with the NNN500250 ECU ok. When we tried to learn the security codes to the ECU, so we could load a different map, it said that there was a communication error with the ECU, and the car would no longer start.

Would anyone know what the problem may be as my car has developed a problem where it revs hard between gear changes, and this is why we are trying to use a flashable ECU to rid the engine of this. Sort of two questions in one here, if that makes sense.

Not sure why that has led to a PCM replacement. Have you looked at the clutch pedal switch?

Was leaning towards a clutch switch, but unable to source 1 atm due to christmas. As I said was only going on what I was told, Re: about about current chipped ECU holding revs, can sometimes go wrong??

You will be able start the engine with this ECU but bear in mind the EU3 motors had significantly higher injector pressures and other changes which effect fueling so performance is going to be distinctly non-optimal.

    Cheers

Check the setting for the throttle in the ECU. Pre-my02 had 2 way, my02 onwards 3way. The new ECU will be set for 3way so won't read throttle position correctly.
