    FAULTMATE

    Hi all.
Wondering where to get one, how to use and how much a faultmate for a D3 is?
Also will this tell me if the ERG is playing up?
    Cheers

Just purchased a Faultmate MSV2 Extreme from Paul at Hardrange (PaulP38A on here). He gives good service and is much easier to deal with than Blackbox solutions. Mine cost $1500 AUD but that was for 2 vehicles (Freelander 1 and Disco3) I think the full Disco 3 kit works out around $1100 AUD. This gives the ability to modify/read all the ECU's on the vehicle as well as reading and resetting fault codes.

    MSV2 fault codes translation

Does anybody have a link to where I can translate or download a list of the Faultmate "fault" codes?
Blackbox just direct me to a "support" site of Faultmate owners, a sort of online community self help group; but so far no actual list or such where I can translate the list of fault codes that the MSV throws up for my TDV6.
Have I missed something in the installation instructions perhaps/
Still struggling to get any benefit from the unit after almost a year?

    thanks guys

Unfortunately, I am out of FaultMates at the moment, and will be for the near-term while I do some "economic rationalisation" of the company accounts... i.e. get last year's Tax and GST bills sorted

If you do buy a MSV-2 EXTREME from BBS for your D3 (and I recommend you do) I can still supply the "value add" bits that they do not by default (i.e. OBDII extension, Australian AC power supply, PL2303 USB-Serial adapter) at a very reasonable price.

    Cheers, Paul.

Hi Paul, Have you a nwe supply of FaultMates available? I've a Disco 3 V8 HSE that I have just bought 2d hand, and there are some things I would like to see an do to it. (..like make 4x4 information available on the SatNav screen.) Have you any contacts in Brisbane that would show me one, or better yet, sell me the services of one?

    Rgds...Dan

Hi Dan - unfortunately not, between the accountant and the tax man, our ability to restock will continue to be severely limited for at least a few more months while we pay off our GST bill.

I do recall a couple of customers in Brisbane who bought MSV-2's from us for their Disco 3's, however it would be imprudent of me to share their contact details. I will attempt to contact them and ask permission to share their contact details, or hopefully they lurk here and may volunteer it themselves

To use someone else's MSV-2 on your Disco 3, it would need to have the Multi-Vehicle licence rather than the Single Vehicle licence that most people buy.

The kit I'd recommend for you is https://blackbox-solutions.com/shop/...222&item=SV222

    Cheers
    Paul.
