    99 TD5 ECUs are a development of petrol ECUs and were home developed by Land Rover , so probably lean on 14CUX tech a bit.
    Apparently this came about as Bosch had no 5 cylinder off the shelf injection at that time.

    Philip... Your words... Mines 20 yrs old - We are talking about TD5 ECUs... So your (TD5) ECU isnt 20 is it

    Lucas designed and built the TD5 ECU... Turns out its one of the best ECUs ever made.

    Even has functionality that was never utilised - Dynamic Engine mounts etc....

    I as only trying to say that no matter which ECU it is "checksum error " is the code of death, as evidenced by the OBD2 code and explanation.

    I thought I was clear that I have a 14CUX, which is 20 years old.
