Our main priority with The Nanocom One and the Nanocom Evolution has been to debug it such that everything it does works as flawlessly as possible.
Although we seem to have mainly achieved this already, with no small thanks to the interaction of many members of this board, but as this post indicates, and more so the linked post, it seems we have still to overcome
some aspects of the TD5 flashing functionality that are not quite yet totally as anyone could wish for.
Once we have sorted this last small thing we may well look at Puma EMS flash re-Programming with custom maps etc, which is already possible with our MSV-2 system.
However we will certainly not be looking to provide any Reading capability.
To Colin,
I am trying to work out what I need in a Nanocom but it seems you don't actually have any way I can see of contacting your company via your web site. Is there somewhere around the Central Coast NSW where I can see one of these units via a dealer. Not too keen just forking out 300 odd Euro through a site with no apparent contactability.

Not sure what else you want, you cant choose what you want in a Nanocom apart from the vehicle you want it for.
BBS have been pretty good if you buy from them I would be surprised if they did any wrong. Maybe you should look at another forum members unit to see if it does what you want.

There was a time when it was almost impossible to contact the sole individual, via a single e-mail address that could supply you with a nanocom. And even if you were lucky enough to actually get one, it would be buggy and there were little to no updates being provided for it.
However things have radically changed in the last year or two. Now there is quite a team of folks supplying and supporting the nanocom through multiple e-mail addresses, and many newere owners will testify that buying one is now a delightful process. Debugging it and supplying regular updates is now also common practice, and there is now even an owners forum for it. Bugs in the system are now really hard to find and are regarded as extremely rare.
You say you think we are hard to contact, but yet here you are posting up on an Australian Based forum and being responded to by the actual owner of a company based in Cyprus.
Just as you happen to know my name, you must also happen to know who i am am and that what i provide compared to what the Nanocom advertises it does is truly beyond any question or doubt.

I appreciate your prompt reply and can see you have been working hard to get the Nanocom sorted. I just wanted to check that my 2000 D2 TD5 is definately compatible with your system as I keep sseing coments that only 2002 models on are ODBII compliant. Mine has no sticker to that effect and I want to be sure it will definately work on the 2000 model.

None of the Td5s full supports OBDii hence the need for tools like the nanocom to access the ECUs.

I had a delaminated intercooler hose giving me grief intermittently and I figure as it completely collapsed and blocked the turbo outlet to the intercooler it may have shown an over boost error which would have made it easier to work out where to start looking (maybe). Great rig these TD5's but all my experience was on DISCO 1 V8I which for the most part was pretty straightforward to sort out.

Hi Grant,
Mechanical issues aren't going generate error codes or reporting in any diagnostic tool.
Using your collapsed hose as an example, you won't see an error at all. What you'd need to do is monitor or record the fuelling inputs. The Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor is on the intake manifold so after located after the turbo hoses, and the the output from this sensor is used to calculate the level of boost. If you had collapsed hoses you'd see the MAP reading drop towards ambient pressure or even below due to the blocked hoses.
So while you wouldn't get a fault code, you would see fairly quickly that the engine wasn't making boost.
If you are going down the diagnostic tool path, I'd highly recommend getting a copy of the RAVE CD - I'd go as far as saying it essential if you want to do anything more than clear fault codes. The Description and Operation sections for each subsystem are invaluable and often the best guide to what setting options are available. In particular the Td5 Engine management section will give you a good overview of what each sensor does.

that makes much more sense. I thought as the output clossed off it would throw a signal that the turbo pressure would be way over but then the waste gate should dump it in that case anyway. I did download a RAVE manual file but it is just a heap of non nondescript files. I eventually found the D2 shop manual but it seems to be all about the V8. Specs for TD5 but no real detail of anything. Obviously wrong manual. I take it the IIa of the link is the right one for the TD5 detail. I shall order it now.
