    Nanocom1 error saving file

    Hi Guys

I've recently purchased a chipped TRS ECU (2000 Disco Td5) and am trying (unsuccessfully) to read and save the ECU settings to then write to the new ECU.

The Nanocom reads the ECU OK but then is unable to save the file. "Function not performed" or similar.

I've tried hooking it up to my PC but the nanocom wont connect because I'm running windows 7 (the website says it's not compatible)

    Any ideas please?

    Thanks

    Craig

Can't help with the main problem but I have just borrowed a Nanocom 1 and downloaded the software to my Windows 7 32 bit machine. The Nanocom 1 has a USB port and I downloaded and installed the USB driver. It works fine. I have just read files from the Nanocom and saved them as text files to the PC.

What firmware revision is installed on the One? 2.08 is the most recent version and resolves a whole range of issues found in earlier versions.

You'll need to purchase a programmer from BBS or find someone on the forum who is willing to do the update for you. Unfortunately I sold mine when I updated to an Evo, but there was at least one other member who bought a programmer.

2.05 was last version prior to BBS taking over development. There are a lot of improvements in the versions since. Autobox, SRS and V8 modules also added. Not sure that this would improve file saving. Fixes seemed to be driven bug reports and the D2 users on AULRO were fairly squeaky, so the issues raised were usually addressed.

There isn't a change log for the updates so there isnt an easy way to reference to exactly what was changed at each release.

    Cheers

That had crossed my mind, but the OP does say "read and save ECU settings" which should work. Attempting to read the MAP will fail.

I recently read, saved and wrote ECU injector codes and Throttle type (accel way) from and to an early type TD5 Engine MSBxxxxxx ECU (TRS Chipped) using a Nanocom 1 with Version 2.08 firmware - no problems. It will also read the config tune ID and fuel tune ID. The Nanocom will read the ECU part number as "NO FLASH".

As mentioned above you can't change the fuel map but you can see what version it has and change the injector codes and throttle type.
