    TD5 Graphic Viewer Save

I have just given my new Nanocom Evo a run in the Defender, only one fault, air flow.Reading 30 at idle 112 at 2000rpm, so will give the MAF a clean? After a drive down the road I saved the instrument settings to the SD card[4gb Dick Smith format FAT32]which were then able to be graphically displayed using the TD5 viewer.Although the program shows print capabilities it failed to print. Is there a way to print or save the graph to file.Writing this, brainwave occurred, should be able to use 'Paint'?

Cant answer your question but DONT format the card with FAT32
You are asking for trouble particularly if you start writing maps

I had previously formatted as FAT but the card would not save. The vehicle is a 1999 TD5 so the MSB ecu cannot be read let alone saved....is this correct?

Eddy if you plug the Nanocom into your laptop with the card inserted then format to FAT from within Windows it will work (well it does with a 2 Gig card).
I think you are right the MSB ECU is as you described.
They are very touchy one of my Nanocoms having 5 or 6 ECUs to its record I would hate to see anyone else go through what I went through.

The current advice from BBS is that FAT32 is supported, and I have been flashing maps without problems using FAT32 formatted cards.

The problem seems to lie with the way most operating systems format the card by default. When you format with Windows or OSX the disk utilities use a formatting method that maximises the available storage space, but this results in a more complex low level disc format. It seems that the FAT32 library used by the Nanocom has trouble with this.

The solution is to format the disk using a program that was developed by the SD Card industry association:

    https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_3/

By default the SD Formatter software will use the same method as Windows or OSX, but this is easily changed.

This shows the MacOSX version of the app but Windows version is similar. You need to click the option button in the Select Format Option section of the app.
Select "Yes" to enable Logical Address Adjustment and then OK.

In the PC version the same option is called "Format Size Adjustment" - again you want to set this to "On".

    According to the manual:
If the formatted capacity of the card is not a multiple of capacity in a cylinder, some hosts may not access the card successfully. This option adjusts formatted capacity to a multiple of capacity in a cylinder.
This will have the effect of making reads and writes to the card quicker to perform, and using this option seems to have completely solved card related read/write errors I was having. I've flashed ECU's on a number of occassions since switching to this method and the only times I've had problems is when I reformat the card and forget to set the LAA option.

    cheers

Try clicking into the display window then clicking print. I didn't have much luck getting usable results but it might just be a matter of messing with the page size settings.

After a bit of messing about with the driver settings for PDF Creator I was able to get something almost usable.

In the advanced section of the printer setup I had to set resolution to 72dpi and also create a custom postscript paper size that was 40" wide x 7" tall. I suspect you'd have to adjust the width to suit, and you get the entire recording in the output, rather than the screen area.

    cheers
