HELP - Stuck in Transport Mode

Thought I would try and level the car using the Evo, cause it was leaning ever so slightly to the left.

I was installing roof racks first, so put the car in transport mode using the Evo, so I could get to the roof more easily.

Now, not only have I lost all my sls height settings, but i cant get the car out of transport mode.

    Is this the right sequence:

    Transport mode = disabled
    Page right
    Write settings
    Ok
Turn ignition off for 60 seconds to write settings (position 1)

I have done the above time & time again, but every time I turn the car off again, it drops back down. Have another look, and Evo shows transport mode is enabled.

    What am I doing wrong???

Ok, had a chance to sleep on it...

Still no brain waves came to me during the night.

    Anyone else had an idea?

There is a procedure to exit transport mode using one of the climate control buttons and another (perhaps HDC) whilst holding your tongue at the right angle, or something similar. Sorry I can't recall the specific requirements.

I did find this on another forum:

The BCU can be put in and out of transit mode with Diagnostic kit or it can be be taken out of transit mode by simultaneously holding down the heated rear window and the rear fog lamp switches and turning the ignition switch from position 0 to position III for 2 seconds.

    and found this:

A bug in the latest software means the parameters are inverted so saving as ENABLED makes it DISABLED

Tried both of these, with no luck.

At this stage, I am running out of options. Could be a slow, uncomfortable trip down the road from work tomorrow to Solitaire & get them to do it.

Well, after loosing the fuse to the compressor, and the pliers I used to pull it with, guess it is going to be a long, bumpy drive to the dealer tomorrow.

Not sure how the Nanocom faired either.

Unless, I ride my bike, then it will be a long, bumpy ride to work.

So, just took the car in to Solitaire.

They plugged their computer in, and evidently, it wont communicate with my car

BUT, they are busy, and cant spend any time on it for a week.

So, unless someone has any other bright ideas, looks like it will be looking like a saggy bum Disco for a while...

Eventually, the resolution was a combination of things....

    1) I had the faults & codes reset by a LR specialist. The Nanocom was not reading any faults, but he found pages & pages of them. Reset them all, car showed that everything was good & not in transport mode.

    2) I replaced both airbags & both height sensors. Should have only taken 20mins per side, which it would have.... if the bloody bag hadn't unrolled as I pulled it out of the box... But, thats another story.

    3) I updated the software in my Nanocom Evo to the latest. This seems to have helped with the SLS issues, as I can read & set the required height & it writes ok. It still shows I have an overheating AC bearing thou... who knew there was a sensor there...

So, at the end of the day, I think it was a combination of a leaky airbag, and bad (old) software in the Nanocom.

Best thing I can suggest at this point, is see if someone near you has a Nanocom Evo with the latest firmware installed, and get them to read your car. If you have eliminated everything on the car as a possible cause of the problem, then I would be looking at the Nanocom.

For future reference I have an aftermarket diagnostic machine which hasn't let me down yet, although I haven't tried it in a D2. I have used it on a Sport, Disco3, Freelander 2 (2 different ones) and a Freelander 1, plus my Vogue.

Well, I will leave the Disco with you for a little bit so you can test it, if you like...

I will need a replacement vehicle, while you have mine, so, the Vogue will do nicely...

A man of your means should only need a week or 2, to do some thorough testing...
