Trog, I'd reckon that when connected to computer, the machine will power up. So which lead do you need?
Check out nanocom.it from some clues.

I have a version 1 nano. that I would like to get using , but it seems that I am missing a cable to power it up when connected to the computer. Therefore I was wondering if there might be one available to borrow on the north side of Brisbane ? Or even a quick lesson ? Thanks

it doesn't power up when plugged into the comp. so combined thinking between myself and a much more knowledgable computer user is that it needs an addition power input when not plugged into the vehicle. also we feel it needs to be logged on / registered or some such thing but BBS doesn't have the goods according to a reply given. thinking it has been left in the cupboard far too long and is now redundent
You can give to me if you think it's redundant
The Nanocom One was never supplied with an external power supply - if you wanted one you had to source it locally... In fact I think that still holds true for the EVO's...
Either the 9v or 12V version of this power adapter would do the job:

You can retrieve the ID from the Nanocom once you have it powered up:
The registration system should have the ID's and unlock codes for old units as well as current production units as this is the way they have been distributed since at least 2008.
cheers

thanks I will try this with my computer savvy neighbour
