    L320 RRS EAS diagnostic/calibration

    Hi All,
It seems i am not having much luck with the range rovers, last year i purchased a p38 that has given me a heaps of issues, being my wifes car we decided to upgrade to a 2008 RRS tdv8 a couple of weeks ago and it seems to have caught the bug off the p38..... Its throwing up a suspension error, saying normal height available only, now i have a p38 eas diagnostic cable which had been some use and wanted to know what is the best way to go with the RRS for something similar? I also noticed it has had a slight lean to one side since we picked it up and figured it needed re calibrating, a tool to do this would be handy.

Faultmate or Hawkeye, I'd say your problem is the compressor and it will probably need the heights adjusted also, getting the fault codes will give you a better idea of what the problem is.

We have tried to adjust the heights with ours using the Faultmate, as ours has a lean to the front left, but so far haven't been able to do it.

    1st idea

About the dropped/lean - if it's always like that all the time, then you can get away with calibration. I set my front 825mm and rear 830mm from the ground to top of wheel arch. the guy that did it managed to get it to within 2mm!! The norm is +/- 5mm out at best.

If it's sinking when left overnight - you have a leak.

Your old Hiatachi compressor can be serviced (valve kit and dryer) and will be of good service but the only longterm solution is to put the new AMK compressor kit in (LR045251). This comes with a software update and new relay.

Ok, looking in to it it seems likely the compressor or the drier, will have a good look at the car tonight and see what i find. Can the EAS error codes be read with a scangauge or similar at all?

On a RRS Scanguage will only read higher level codes but only gives you a number - you then need to go away and investigate what the code means. However I cannot answer specifically if it will read suspension codes.

Managed to get it going, blown 60amp fusable link, it had been operating fine again but today apparently its having issues again, im guessing the compressor is on its way out causing it to blow??
