Yes i think i paid around $200 from steve heath at ecumate .com it seems to work alright. Can cancel codes and tells you the basic stuff, water ,fuel temps good to know what the sensors are telling the ecu, volt, stepper position, throttle position volts, cats ,what tune resistor its running
So, with all the displays about 'everything' this would be the Steam-driven version of the D2's 'Nanocom' ?
Needs a sexier screen...![]()
Not quite the same. But I started remapping my 3.9 v8 today. Software is all free, have to have a chip burner and a wideband O2 gauge.
Yes it is a good unit for the 14cux ecu, also have the Hawkeye unit, this too is useful as it covers the full vehicle, ABS, SRS and the ecu, however the Hawkeye is not as good as the ECUMATE due to the fact the information it shows from the ecu is limited. E mail Hawkeye with feedback no reply.
Well after all my interest, as I have a 12/96 disco it turns out I have a GEM. system and not a 14cux ...am I right
If it's a 96 Disco it will have the 14 cux Hotwire system installed, unless of course someone has swapped a P38 Range Rover engine in there which is very unlikely. Does it still run a distributor? All 3.9 Discos pre 1999 used the Lucas 14 cux, along with a variety of English sports cars from around that time (e.g. MGRV8, TVR, etc).
For a Lucas product it was a reasonably reliable and simple system and can be modified and 'chipped' to provide improved performance if need be.
