    D3 Diagnostic tool

I have a 2007 D3 TDV6 and am looking at buying a diagnostic tool. Which one should I buy? I am looking at reading codes and resetting service indicators, I don't need to adjust suspension as I have a S model with coil springs.

Google out IID DA6405 , that's the cheapest you can find to be reliable with your D3 but it's brilliant, you dont need anything else cos it works together with the cruise controll buttons and dash display... other options would be Hawkeye, Lynx or Nanocom but these are a bit more expensive.....you can take your chance with a cheaper multivehicle interface which has the D3 in the menu but i can't vouch that it will be 100% reliable and you'll need a laptop for it, so you do for Lynx which is locked to VIN as well like the IID tool

How much r u gonna spend? If money is not a problem, try Mongoose JLR cable. Google "Mongoose JLR", the first one is the real Mongoose. If you want a cheap one, try its knockoff. Both of them can read and erase error codes and reset service lights. I have not used a genuine, but bought a 138 version knockoff last month. It costs $50, works ok.

i have one but i use it on D2, it's very human friendly and made by Omitec, those who are building the main dealer's T4 and on the same protocol

I have a Hawkeye for the D2 and D3, does everything I need and then some. Not sure what I will get yet for the D4, hopefully I can get a software upgrade and a new cable to fit one of the existing Hawkeyes.

They aren't as cheap as some other diagnostic tools.
    Cheers,
    Terry

Where did you order from shanegtr? And what others did you consider? I need to get a diagnostic tool, and have no idea where to start...

LR direct. Essentially I was narrowed down to 3 choices - faultmate msv2, nanocom evo and the iid tool. Whilst I would have had no dramas shelling out the $ for the faultmate the after sales service that I've seen on various forums was a concern for me - the iid tool has excellent after sales service from what I've read.

X2 on the IID tool. I bought mine from Island 4x4 in the UK and once I got to pay for it I had it 3 days later.
As I am still away at work I have only had a quick play with it and is very easy to use. I also have the bluetooth model for my Ipad.
