I've struggled with the 'search' function within aulro, so I simply use Google to search for what I'm looking for and include the expression AULRO in my search.
    That's how I found this:
    www.aulro.com/afvb/2216849-post50.html
Which is, presumably the deleted discount link, still cached by Google, but not available for me to read.
    • Like the OP, I'd like to buy a Nanocom for my 2003 td5 D2
    • I can't afford the $700 that I've seen advertised on ebay from the manufacturer.
    • I don't know if there is a discount available to AULRO members when buying direct.

Can anyone help me out ?

it appears, there is no longer a discount we were told, when he took his bat and ball and went instead of answering some critical questions, not for the first time it must be said.

some love the product, some like it but have been done by the lack of support on occasions. i know people that are out of pocket many thousands of dollars.

like all vendors who don't renew their vendor subscriptions, their threads are removed from public view in relevant sections of the site.

if it were me, i would be buying directly via credit card if possible, as it affords the customer the best protection if for any reason you are unhappy.

you can always contact me by PM if you wish.

Even without the discount it is worth while buying if you are intending to stick with your Landy for awhile, and as incisor says buy direct. I was happy to buy without the discount.

If you are using it for diagnostics it is worth the value as you can record live data to a memory card and post the results when seeking advice on what may be going wrong. I have seen people attempt to describe a problem and have no luck finding a solution, but then after many posts upload what Nanocom recorded and the problem was solved straight away just from others looking at the raw data.

The only real risk with a device like the Nanocom unit is if you are into re-flashing your ECU. With all electronics if you attempt to reflash the memory things can go wrong and you can brick what you were flashing.

The fact you can download and upload new maps to your Td5 is the icing on the cake - just remember there is always a risk.

If it is for a D2 and you are not in a hurry, discounts can be obtained from D2BC.co.uk • View topic - Nanocom Missed out on the last group buy but would still be eligible for the 10% after going through the hoops!

Why don't we start our own AULRO list and see if they'll give us a discount. I'll put my hand up for one???

I would also be interested in a group buy! Would be happy to wait for OS delivery if the price is right.

I found this on the web and would like an opinion. It is an iCarsoft i930 OBD2 scanner dedicated to LR vehicles. It appears to be a very recent release and covers ABS faults as well. Please check it out at Total Car Diagnostics | OBD Scan Tools & Auto Repair Tools & Software as they have reduced the price substantially. Cheers E

The problem is that most LR systems are not OBD2 compliant

I ended up ordering a Nanocom direct from BBS and it only took about five days to arrive. The price was much more reasonable than on eBay.

Registering online and obtaining the unlock codes was easy.

I have now been able to code the spare ignition key to my vehicle, I purchased it from a local locksmith about twelve months ago but he was unable to code it for me with the equipment he had.

I also plugged the Nanocom in for a 150k trip I did this last weekend, did the whole trip with one eye on the road and the other watching the temp on my EGT gauge and the coolant temp on the Nanocom. (a bit stressful)

It's comforting to have such a useful tool on board.
