Nice tool but quite useless for most of Land Rovers as the majority are not OBDll compliant

One for the sheeple. I have something similar using an bluetooth ELM327 device that I keep in the missus's 2011 eurobox. The idea is not new. It's useful for turning warning lights off away from home but that's about it.
For proper diagnostics I use an Autocom system and on the D2 I have a Nanocom.
If you want to waste your money on one of these, go ahead.

Not quite true.. all LRs since about 1995 -1998 are OBDl and/or OBDII compliant to a large extent. There are some additional LR -specific codes but the legally required codes under the OBDII Californian legislation are all there...

The gizmag tool to is a simple code scanner which is fine for mechanically-challenged folk.. alternatively, the Android app Torque pro for about $5 is excellent and provides a lot of info from the obdll port via a bluetooth dongle (separate purchase) to your android phone. TorquePro doesn't organise a date with a mechanic who may/not know the quirks of your particular vehicle model however....

Maybe the petrol modells but it's not valid for diesels too... and that first stage OBDII protocol was mainly for emmision controll not complex management issues
