    Nanocom Noob

    Howdy.
I'm chasing an issue or two with my Td5 D2 auto, and as such have arranged a session with Slunnies nanocom.
    However....
I have absolutely zero clue on how to work a nanocom!
If I can get the files onto a computer as a CSV I can then send them to Dr Tombie
So I assume that files are recorded to the SD card in the nanocom, and then with a reader they're transfered to computer?
Are they transferred as a CSV file?
    I have a Mac Laptop with (Don't laugh) 10.5.8...
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as I'll have to do this myself when I get my own nanocom.
    Cheers

The SD card may need formatting. If you do it on the Mac make sure to select FAT.
As for the device itself it will run without the need of the computer. Once you've got it to write the file to the card the your Mac should be able to read the card like any other.
Also cheap cards from Woolworths work fine.

Have a look on the nanocom website for their instruction manual. The old ones were a bit rough, but the documentation has improved in the last year. This will give you the details.

Otherwise from memory, insert the SD card, connect the cable to the nanocom first and then connect to the vehicle. Once booted up navigate to the screen you are interested in. On that screen there will be a blue disk icon at the bottom. Tap that and it should ask for a file name. Needs to be <8 characters as it's DOS style. Once entered recording should start. When finished tap disk icon to finish, shut down nanocom, unplug from vehicle and then unplug cable from nanocom. Remove SD card, plug into computer and copy file over. The file format is not normal csv but you will be able to open it and tidy it up in excel.

    Cheers

    Steve
