    Do any of the cheap diagnostic scan tools work on discovery 1 1997

    Hi Ben, I assume you have a V8 Disco as they have EFI, it wouldn't be useful for a TDi and on the V8 only give you limited info unlike a Disco2 where everything is controlled with computers.

    I don't think you'll find a cheap diagnostic tool for a D1 that's if you only want a reader as the Oz Discos where not OBDII like the NAS version.
    $500-600 will get you a Hawkeye and you'll have to get the proper cable for the D1.
    But I would check before hand with Hawkeye to make sure it is compatible.
    The diagnostic connector for the D1 was on the drivers side kick panel.
    That's where I have seen LR plug their text book into as well as Land Rover non dealer mechanics.
