Check the fuse, and using a multimeter check the plug with the vehicle running...
Wont hurt...
I guys getting the low air flow fault logged. Don't know how long it's been there but only know now I have a nanocom. Checked and cleaned the maf with a air intake cleaning fluid in a can very gently and all the other sensors in the intake. Can see I get no reading from the nanocom for air mass flow. Have checked the wiring loom across the front of the engine. I'm guessing a knackered maf but would love to be able to check it against a working one. Anyone northern suburbs of Perth near Mullaloo that would be willing to let me plug theirs onto my car to confirm. Any help appreciated thanks!!

+1^^^,(fuse F2 engine bay though in normal conditions if it's blown it should trigger ambient pressure and wastegate controll fault codes too) for the MAF, with it plugged(if you can't reach the pins from behind with the multimeter's probe insert thin needles and measure on those) you must get 12V across body and pin 3(brown/pink wire), across pin 1(pink/blue = earth path) and pin 2(brown/orange) from 0.5 -0.7V growing with revs untill close to 5 at full throttle... if you have the 12V supply and no reading at all on output(pins1-2) replace the MAF without remorse, if it's different we'll speak again... untill then drive it with it unplugged.

Ok so got a chance to check it all out. When running got 14.3v from pin 3 to earth. Then between pin 1 and 2 only got .026v regardless of rev range. Checked with resistance and got the following
1-2 = 16.85k ohms
1-3= 3.29m ohms
2-3 = 17.8m ohms and dropping Sounds like a new maf ??
In a nutshell: yes : , but to be 100% certain measure between body and pin 2 too just to make sure it's not an earth path from ECM problem

X2 it's knackered. What you describe is exactly the symptoms I had a whole back.
Btw dn't be tested by cheap Chinese copies. If you don't go genuine look for a VDO or Siemens one.
Cheers
Steve
Couldn't agree more, avoid the Chinese ones like the plague. Genuine only.
I had a serious AFM issue on my TD5 i was chasing for 6 months. Measured value was well out of ranger under certain load conditions causing total fuel cut under load, kicking and bucking etc.
Not being able to find a brand new genuine item at a price i liked.
I bought a second hand unit from TRS here in Adelaide, installed it, cleared the fault code and its been great ever since.
Hi guys
Found a local d2 being wrecked and metered out the MAF and then also tried it out with the nanocom on and all works great. For how long I don't know but for $35 I'll take the chance with an original second hand job.
Other one was knackered for sure !!
