Urgent help needed please - Multiple Fault codes

    Hi guys,
I'm a new member - don't quite own a Land Rover just yet but doing my best to buy a Disco 2! I'm looking at a 2000 Disco TD5 in Melbourne and after buying a UVP and a platinum State Roads inspection I'm over $400 into it and just trying to figure out if I should go further. She's in really nice condition interior and bodywise, was a farm vehicle and was bought 2 years ago by a guy who owned it as his third car specifically in preparation for a round Aussie trip. He's been adding accessories (cargo barrier, bull bar, roof racks, driving lights, etc) to it, and then added a baby to his missus and consequently the trip is off and third car no longer required! As I mentioned, very tidy, loads of extras very well looked after (log books are immaculate, always by land rover specialists). It's been advertised as excellent condition inside and out, mechanically a1, 100% ready for long distance trip - which is what I need as I'll be driving it back to Brisbane over the following 2 days. The inspection brought up a few things though that I'm hoping someone can guide me on - just hoping to hear that it is unlikely to be anything major and not gonna turn into a money pit. The inspector advised the following:
304K+ on the clock, running alright, drives alright, blowing a tiny bit of smoke on startup but not black and not unexpected given mileage, everything inside the vehicle works as it should except cruise control, electric engine fan runs constantly.
The points he picked up that he recommended I get checked out before I buy (from his diagnostic scan):
    Air Flow Circuit Logged Low
    Air Flow Circuit Logged High
Fuel Temp Circuit Fault Logged High
Coolant Temp Circuit Fault Logged High
    EGR Valve Stuck Open Logged
    EGR Valve Stuck Closed Logged
Vehicle Speed too High for Cruise Logged
    Injector Fault(s) Logged
    Road Speed Missing Fault Logged
Engine Speed outside bounds for cruise logged
Vehicle Speed outside bounds for cruise logged
Cruise Control Set stuck closed logged
Engine Speed Outside bounds for cruise Active
Vehicle Speed Outside bounds for cruise Active
Injector 2 Peak Charge Long Logged
Injector 1 Open Circuit Detected Logged
Injector 2 Open Circuit Detected Logged
Injector 3 Open Circuit Detected Logged
Injector 4 Open Circuit Detected Logged
Injector 5 Open Circuit Detected Logged

He also mentioned a bit of vibration in the driveline when driving in first and second - he wasn't a Landy specialist, and couldn't say what it was or would likely be, minor or major.

At this stage I'm just hoping for a bit of advice - i.e. likelihood of it being major $$$'s to repair, or likelihood that its all just small stuff. Reading the forums it seems like it's all probably small stuff. Anyone have any advice to share?

Seller seems very genuine, and the rest of the inspection report was pretty good. Comes with a set of four new all terrain tyres (fitted tyres at 30%), and he's asking $7500 after some negotiation - seems worth the trouble to me if she's not a dud!

Any advice greatly appreciated. Cheers, Shane (almost a Land Rover driver).

With the fan on constantly and reading some of the codes I'd expect it's had an overheat issue.
Has it had a recent head gasket change?
Injector codes could be from cranking it with the injector harness undone(some do this for priming fuel but it doesn't help).
It may have had the ignition turned on with some plugs undone also having a third read of the faults.
The ECU would need have the faults cleared to get the fan to return to normal operation.

I know some other folk on here are very clued up on these codes
    Cheers, Kyle

Thanks mate - have asked the questions Seller says Head gasket wasn't done recently (to his knowledge) but when he got it there was a problem with an air lock in the fuel line (occasionally wouldn't start) so a mechanic did work on the fuel system to relieve the air lock...if that helps

IIRC the coolant temp circuit error will cause the fan to run until the fault is cleared.

The list reminds me of the print-out I received when mine's ecu was about to be remapped, as the remapping is done with the ecu powered on a bench but nothing else connected, hence all the faults.

Some of those faults can be hysorical, better clear them all, go for a longer test drive then read again... watch carefully to see if the ABS, TC, HDC warnings are showing themselves on self test cos those road speed faults can be caused by a wheel peed sensor/hub and the 3 amigos should be on, unless it was fixed before, or if you have tester read codes from the SLABS too

Thanks much appreciated - will most likely back out of this one as the distance is proving too difficult, with the seller working the same hours as the LR mechanics are open so unable to help out getting it to them...

Injector code issues normally caused by oil in the harness.Cheap fix,new injector harness, less than $200.Remove the red plug on the engine ECU(adjacent to battery),should be no oil in there.
