I may have a solution - JAYCAR has a new speedometer corrector device that I've bought ($44.95) - CORRECTOR SPEEDO MODULE (shouldn't it be a 'Speedo Corrector Module?).
It's powered from the ignition and just requires the pink/grey (KG) speedometer pulse wire into the instrument binnacle to be cut, with each end connected to the small JAYCAR box.
Reading the instructions, fitment & calibration (I'll use a GPS speedo app on my phone) looks straightforward - it's supposed to auto detect the signal type. This is newer than the JAYCAR kit that has been found to not work with Disco 2s, so I'm hoping it will work ...
I'll see if I can install it this weekend and post my results.
Dont bother, it won't work with a D2.
The D2 has a 1Hz base signal, the Jaycar corrector doesn't allow this signal through. Without that signal the speedo will not work. Several people before you have tried it, and all have failed.
The Hunter DI Spares C6100-4 defiantly works 100%.
