Dunno why you posted in Ask a Moderator. Most/all of us would have no idea.

    Moved to Electronic Diagnostics.

The iCarsoft is probably a good compromise tool if you can’t afford the Gap tool. One of the benefits of iCarsoft is it is not locked to a single VIN and being customised for LR it does a lot more than a generic code reader can do. Being a standalone tool can be good as it does not need a phone to use, but I prefer to be able to read live values via my phone.

For advanced diagnostics the Gap tool will do more including reprogramming ECU’s by being able to make changes to the car configuration files and reflashing the ECU’s. This includes being able to remap the engine tuning by Bell Auto Services.

But probably one of the nicest functionality differences with the Gap tool is being able to recalibrate the ride height module, including changing the default height, and you have the ability to set up custom heights without needing to get the brilliant LLAMS height controller. (Good for occasional changes - but if doing all the time then I would still recommend getting the LLAMS height controller).

For example, if planning on doing a lot of sand driving you can set up an off road height option (which won’t drop back down once above 50kph) or if doing a lot of high speed highway driving a lowered height option (which can improve fuel economy). Once set up, you can change between these custom height modes with the press of a button.

And if you want to get really tricky, with the Gap tool you can set up a height option to raise the nose and lower the bum for hooking up to a low trailer hitch when on uneven ground.

another thing to consider, the GAP tool support is fantastic, way above anything that might be in second place.
