I have one I don't need if anyone wants an unused secondhand unit.
I bought it for my nissan shopping trolley, but it's too dumb to talk to the scangauge.

I've reported it as fraudulent (it won't do what he claims)
I've had an email fromn him:

I have used this product a number of times on models including Range Rover 95>02 (P38s) Land Rover Discovery Defender & Freelanders, we have remove fault codes on series 2 Disco 99>04 faults including Traction Abs Hill descent, we have also removed Eas faults on Range Rover 95>02 models, this is not a comprehensive machine that is as capable say as the autlogic or test book but it is a handy tool to have in the glovebox when those problems do arise as being a Land Rover owner you are only well aware of.

    Cheers

Anyone know him or his workshop?

has anyone tried the Scangauge II on the 2007 Defenders yet? I have just ordered a new Defender and I'm looking around for some toys to add to it.

I bought a ScanTool Elm Iso obd-II compliant scanner. Only cost $60 and according to the website has been tested on a 2004 Defender. That is until you read the support page threads. Unfortunately it doesn't work on Land Rovers so its now a paper weight
Steer clear of generic scanners, save your pennies and by a specific unit like Nanocom or Faultmate

I tried my mates one on my series one disco which is OBD1 and it was great for me
depending how far you go or what you want out of the scanner
but basic intermediate codes and hard codes show up but you cant
reset them with it you have to refer to LR manual to reset codes

Prior to securing a Faultmate SV for the P38, I'd got all enthused about OBDII for my ageing Commodore Gen3...got an Elmscan plus some basic (free) software with it. It doesn't do a lot for the Commodore but I was surprised at the amount of info that came out of the P38 ...long/short tem fuel settings, indicated a dodgy O2 sensor, coolant temps etc etc. When used with Digimoto software you can make up your own virtual dashboard on the laptop...problem is you need a co-driver/engineer to monitor it all!

I borrowed one from Ladas - it wouldn't even talk to the P38A.
