    Advice please

    G,day.
Some of you might be aware that my Bro has just bought a 98 model
P38a HSE V8 Range Rover. Its in tip top condition with new air bags, ABS,
near new Bruce Davis, blueprinted 5 ltr engine and has had 25 grand spent
    on it.

I want to set up a laptop with diagnostic software etc.
I have been looking at the Faultmate MSV 2, from Blackbox Solutions.
Is anybody here using it ? Is it any good ? Is it enough on its own ?
    Is there something better ?

In their website they list a heap of different cables and stuff, which ones would we need to buy, to cover most area's of diagnosis ?
Is there a list of codes or stuff that can be used to correct faults ?

This is a new area for me and I have much to learn but already I am
    finding it interesting.

Thanks for any help that you may be able to offer.

Jeez, that was a big help, eh.

Not one Range Rover driver waved back.

Oh well, we are going to buy the Faultmate anyway.

From what I understand its excellent value for money, compared with the others. Would be a great piece of insurance, and as soon as I have the cash I will be buying one. Check on Range Rovers as their is heaps of info in the forums there. One of the developers also frequents the board.

What's it going to cost? As I thought you had to buy the individual software modules?

I bought a faultmate for my disco 2 about 6 months ago. It came with all the leads etc that I needed. The unit gives fault descriptions as well as codes and I have found it fairly easy to use. The company was great to deal with and I am happy that I spent my dollars well

    Thank you.
Stu. I think its about 4 or 5 hundred pound sterling, I'm not sure.
Has something to do with individual licences or something ?
I will wait untill my Bro returns from Sydney and then I will send the emails
to Blackbox re: pricing and what to order etc.

One thing I want to find out is whether the Faultmate can clear ESA
faults or if we need to purchase the ESA kicker in addition.
I guess all shall be revealed.

I was particularly interested in hearing from our blokes that might be using
    them and their impressions.
    Cheers.
