    Ecu upgade,non flash to flashable.

    Hi Guys
I have purchased a NNN000120 ECU with a chip upgrade for my non flashable D2.
Can those who have played with Nanocom in such a way PLEASE give a step by step how to change the ECU settings via laptop.
    Thanks
    Andrew

REPLACING AN ECU (From the Nanocom Website)
    1.Read exsisting injector codes.
    2.Verify 2 or 3 track accelerator pot.
    3.Install new ECU.
4.Read injector codes of new ECU with read setting, then modify with write setting to match exsisting engine, same for accelerator setting.
5.Perform the Security Code learn to sync the alarm with new ECU.
6.Write Map with Nanocom Map wizzard.

Sounds EASY,unsure about writing maps, should already be done on the new ECU.
Will see how it goes tommorow

Well Ive done Brain surgery on Black Betty.
She goes like a rocket but there are a couple of issues I need to fix.
As it is a Defender ECU the SLABS and Turbo Modulator are disabled. The SLABS only seems to be stopping the temp gauge from working(the Nanocom is showing temp readings as per normal) and throwing an auto trans error(mine is manual and the new ecu is manual). The Turbo Modulator however is causing grief. Its going into full boost at 3000rpm then dropping all the boost in one hit, giving a missfire.
Power is awsome, but not real driveable under full power. There is some black smoke, but nothing too bad.
Anybody know if I can reset the 2 using my Nanocom.
Mike I will give you a call.
    Thanks

    Hi Mike
Took a mate for a run after speaking with you.
When the boost "hickups" boost remains zero on Nanocom, but still goes much harder than the standard ECU despite the boost being dumped down the exhaust!!!

    Hi Mike.
I contacted the bloke I bought the ECU off today.
He has the same upgraded Defender tune in his D2.
He has Autologic and will change the settings on mine to enable SLABS and the Turbo Modulator.
    Thanks

All done,Mike from Beechboro 4x4 who I purchased it switched the errant Defender settings with his AutoLogic.
Drives really nice, like driving a different vehicle
There is an issue to settle,my injector codes are all the same.He says mathmatically its possible, but he has NEVER seen one with 5 matching.
See my thread on tuning a TD5 for some great info.
