I cant comment on the squealing aspect save to say in Sept at a Longreach Property this year I had abad case of squealing all around for days and then the permanent 3 amigos. Never before had a problem. Purchased nanocom to clear and fault which stated FR error. Resistance checked, cleared and do date I cannot get one fault logged in my case and of course by the time back to Brisbane all the squealing had stopped.

So the squealing comment could be right as this is what happened in my case.

I did a full bleed / power flush and replaced all the brake fluid to fresh new stuff ... still squeals! Grrrrrr.

New pads might benefit from a chamfer on the leading and trailing edge of the friction surfaces ... according to some Google searching ... AND some anti-squeal for good measure.

So, renewing the brake fluid in my case didn't offer any relief.

Moderate to firm braking doesn't cause squeal ... only light braking at low speeds ... daughter is a "L" plate driver, and is very light on the brakes ... which provides more 3 Amigoes .

"Discovery IIa ... Now with MORE 3 Amigoes!"

    Kev..

I'm a bit new to the D2 still and just got the Holy Nanocom today from Rovacraft. Had the 3As around for a while after experiencing what was pretty dodgy ABS braking coupled with intermittent light shows. With the 3As up permanent (eventually) and no ABS as a result, the D2 actually felt safer I have to say. No more 'scarey' braking.

Anyways, the fault was the LHS bizzo at a count of 254 like reported here. Will see how she plays now all faults are cleared.

    Hoo roo.
