In 1973 I visited a cousin living on the outskirts of London, and for some reason I had to drive his Jag (similar to this, even same colour) round the the suburbs for a few miles. One of the things that I really noticed was the way that police tipped their cap to me!

They did not do that in my brother's Citroen Dyane!

Only thing its missing is 6 cylinder's 🤣🤣 nah I love it mate, as it looks like the previous owner did also!
I remember my grandpa had 2 XJR'S? V12's when I was kid. V12, leather everywhere, 2 doors so it was a squeeze for 3 of us in the back, a bonnet that you couldn't see the end of. Even though they were fairly old and ratty, I thought they were the coolest cars I'd ever seen. I have no idea what happened to them, i remember them getting sold but i dont know to who. He never done anything with them, im pretty sure he sold them to someone who wanted to restore them. He even had the plates to match XJRV12 wicked!
Ive got a badge laying around an old steering wheel from them still.
I'll ask my old lady if shes got some photos of them.

Only if you want to be known as one of the poseurs from the vintage sports car club.

The pommy Jag rep. we had at Leyland in the 70's reckoned they were sales managers cars.

    Very, very nice Gav!!

If you do need any parts or work doing to it, Fred Smith in Bayswater might be worth contacting.
If there's anything he's slightly more batty about than landies, it would be old Jags!

One more sleep hopefully. Went in for its RWC today but it failed on a suspension bush somewhere or something - the current owner couldn’t remember what it was once he’d spoken to the Mechanic. 😁. He’ll have replaced tomorrow with some luck, but if he gets it home late arvo, not sure how I’ll pick it up as my Son works late tomorrow night.
