The moral there is, never ever do a stall turn at that altitude, the rotors can't Bite enough air.

And it was a Blackhawk, they can't fly at the best of times.

That is not a Blackhawk - looks as described an Apache.

A perfectly simple turn, just an idiot that couldn't pull it off.
Lots of $$ wasted on some one that clearly can't fly.

Yep you can hear the rotors struggling to bite the (thin) air when he was descending after the turn, Trying a 'stunt' like that at what appears to be a high altitude mountain base is simply stupid.

    What an idiot.

    Hi Greg,

Are you still pedalling this or something similar around the sky?

(Greg's old ride and my old Disco — which is now with 87County — at Derby airport)

He broke the first rule of flight.
One must be able to throw ones self at the ground and MISS. Seems he didn't miss.
Altitude probably has something to do with this, that and very bad judgement.
They did apparently survive, which says a lot about the crash worthiness of the Apache.

    Hi Ron,

Yep still pedalling one of them around and working for the same company.
We will be back in the Kimberley again in April for 2 months, unfortunately I don't get to go, as i do a bit more desk work these days.
I still get a lot of enjoyment and satisfaction out of them, particularly when on Fire Ops.
Theres another member in here, thats pretty good at pedalling these around as well.

I also used to pedal helicopters around. Lost my medical a few years ago, so just memories now. Cheers.
