Has been interesting to watch this develop. There was plenty of resistance to the project. Local government was against it and after lossing in the courts charged almost £1m in fees for construction permits. Then the cost of opening the memorial was transferred to the trust after the government reneged on paying these costs.
Canada contributed cash and resourses. Not sure that Australia put anything in. If they did it has not made the news here.
