    Why is it that most people think it crashed. Possibly it was set down a bit like the Hudson River incident why Who knows at this time but the search for wreckage I believe now is pointless.

    According to pilots on the pilot rumour board, a controlled ditching at sea is nigh on impossible, unlike the Hudson river incident.

    A river is dead flat, the Indian ocean is far from that with swell and chop.

    Not sure what is was like on the day but when I was a crew member of two delivering a Boat from portfairy to fremantle. For two days it was dead calm. Across the great Australian
    Bight no swell at all.
