Seems our farm is in a good spot for flyovers...

Last year while I was out at the farm carting some water I turned off the pump and looked up wondering what the noise was and was treated to a direct flyover by a Super Constellation.
I was out there slashing on the weekend before last and over the range of hills at the back of the farm comes a black Catalina at about 1000 Feet. Most excellent, seems we are on the flightpath between Temora and the HARS museum.
No pictures from me unfortunately although I did have time to stop the tractor shut it down and get out of the cab before the Cat got overhead, man those things are slow......

Our farm is in the Wolgan Valley near Lithgow. We regularly get buzzed by Hercs flying below the cliff line, only a couple of hundred feet up. They make the valley roar, a great sight! Even better is when the FA18s do the same in pairs. They really skimmed the trees! Shame they don't do it as often these days as I think the Emirates resort next door complained about the noise.

Last time the Hercs were around I threatened to get some black painted PVC pipe and walk out with it over my shoulder and see how they reacted :-).

    Cheers,

We often get Hercules flying up the valley east of the house, either level with the house or below it. This has been going on for years - they did fly right over the house occasionally until one occasion when they came over at 0300 - scaring the daylights out of my wife - next morning she got on the phone to Richmond and they have not been over the house since - and she has been dead for fifteen years.

They are usually in pairs, and you can't hear them coming soon enough to grab a camera
