Thread: Collection of six Messerschmitts sold for ?4million after sitting in hanger for decad

Yep, this has been all over the aviation forums for the last few months. I have several aviation magazines featuring this sell-off kicking around at home somewhere. The owner was originally going to give them to his son but the son died suddenly, so nothing was done with them for a LONG time.

Because of their rarity they got top dollar even though most need major restoration work. I'm not at home so I can't check, but along with the Buchons (Bf-109 with Merlin engine) there were Spitfires and Hurricanes sold off as well. I can't remember if any He-111's were in the mix.
