20 years in prison and a 1/4 of a million dollar fine? Are you serious!

The same nation that can bomb a house from thousands of kilometers away.
Why dont they build some technology to protect against this instead of the penalty they suggest above?
Most of the time i would suspect its kids doing this and not grown adults.
So any penalty like above is just insane.
Surely these laser pointers are not that dangerous or ISIS would be using them lol.

That all depends on whether you want the fovea in your eyes burned out! Some US Airforce crew members successfully sued the USA govt for compensation a while back after having their eyes damaged by the Chinese using lasers while they were engaged on an overflight. Most cockpit canopies can adapted to reduced this nowadays.
