Santa has been kind to the RAAF.....again.

Where is all the money coming from for all the new aeroplanes they have ordered?

the latest toys.....dont know how many they're getting.

with the purchase of the F35's , Posiedon , and the squadron of sneaky unmanned aeroplanes we are not buying but of which we already have some parked at Woomera, we should soon be ready to fight our enemy.RAAF to convert luxury corporate Gulfstream G550 jets into Australian military spy planes - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

All good Rambling, all VERY good.
This was covered on the News last night, I think it was even Ch2?!!!, and the G550 was mentioned in the context of being smaller & cheaper to operate than larger variants,...seemed like a ripper idea to me,...smaller aircraft, smaller initial cost, & operating costs,..had a huge range too.

Yep, F35's launching off the new Canberra ski ramp

hang on, isnt the Canberra (bigger than the Late Melbourne) just for helicopters?
    Attack Helicopters maybe?
I mean we obviously need them if we're buying F35's right?

    Yep - good news rambler.

And why would't Santa be kind to them, he might need a good escort from the North Pole the way things are going 😊.

    Yep and 49 PC21's🤑
Would love to get one of the PC9 if they auctioned them off.
Suspect they will go to a 3rd world air force instead.

the g550's are being purchased as well as the Posiedon fleet so can't see the savings.

    I forgot about the PC21's

yes strangy it would be nice get the scratchers on a PC9 , it's a huge 2 seat aeroplane though.

    G'Day Rambling.
Well the G550's will be used when a larger aircraft is not required, therefore saving on resources, maintenance,... and other associated costs of running a larger aircraft.

Seems a shame that they only get 49 PC21's to replace 67 PC9/A. Would be a good airplane to have for recreational use. Some of the ex Singapore Airforce S211's went onto the local market & that is a fun plane as well.

Nah...spoil-sports at CASA would likely take a dim view of me flying them on my LSA Certificate... sigh....
