Unless they have all the CASA permits in place it will take them years and a LOT of money to get set up.

Sounds great id love to tour the pacific in one if I won the lotto three times. Could not be beat for surf trip, recon a few Island chains instead of a few car parks. Obviously not in an albatross as the thing is a beast. Met a bloke while surfing in indo that did it in one of those rear prop 2 seaters (can't remember the type of plane) and was amazed as I grew up dreaming about it but never thought anyone could afford to actually do it.
Can you imagine fishing for mahi mah from the floats or jumping out the door and diving for crayfish.....
I hope they get it off the ground even if it is just to see a few albatrosses fly by.

Agreed, it will be a good thing if the red tape doesn't strangle the project before it gets off the ground.

    Pardon the pun !

Yeah, sounds good and I'd love and Albatross....

But where's the market for them?? Even with turboprops? There's a G-111 in Perth but there's dramas getting it certified - typical CASA mentality

That and the massive amount of money required to develop the runway at Warnervale to take Albatross'.

It's just a weird idea with plenty of other countries with lower labour costs, purpose built bases, and closer to the US that the Central Coast.

But, good luck, I hope it works out.

one should read Richard Bach's later books written about some of his seat of the pants flying a small amphibious areoplane.
