Never leave your bait in the plane in Alaska

Just see how the pilot coped.

During a private "fly-in" fishing excursion in the Alaskan wilderness, the chartered pilot and fishermen left a cooler with bait in the airplane.

A bear smelled it. This is what he did to the plane.

The pilot used his radio and had

another pilot bring him 2 new tires, 3 cases of duct tape, and a supply

of sheet plastic... He patched the plane together, and FLEW IT HOME !

And if it had been an all metal plane, this would not have been able to have been done. There are some advantages to the older technology!

Old Mate did a Great job getting that mess air worthy in the middle of nowhere, Duct tape is a very versatile product and I have used it on the odd occasion to get me out of trouble in the Bush.
Duct tape, silastic and cable ties have replaced binder twine and wire in the Bush mechanics tool chest now

I'm still not sure how he fixed the right rear bizzo, which looks very broke.
