I must be as thick as two short planks or something 'cos I don't get the "Funny Story"
Seems a reasonable question to me & it isn't mentioned in the blurb, or am I missing something or lost my sense of humour (unlikely)?

If they have been used, then they must have some Engine Hours up & if straight out of a packing case then they wouldn't.

Do they even have engines in them? There are no under cowl photos of either the helos or PC9s and no mention of engine hours....

The PC9 pics do show props and exhaust stacks so the ones in the pics certainly have engines.

So apart from Regulations stopping the buyer flying them out, they ain't going to get far.

I thought it was a funny story , some goose texting a message like that.

The article clearly states that the Kiowas have an average of 21,818 flying hours on them.

Those hrs are better maintained than civilian helicopters , I used to be a framie on them.

Although of limited use it would be great to fly around the country at 600kmh in one of the PC9s.

An astute purchaser would know the value of the Kiowas as they have had hundreds of modifications done to them to improve operational performance.

But he didn't mention the Kiowas, he asked about the PC9s. Anyway you can't take anything for granted with Auctions.

The problem won’t be engine hours. They are most likely on second or third engine. Perhaps more, depending on the system of maintenance.
Most aircraft have a maximum economical airframe life/cycles, which I suspect would be most limiting factor in a 30+ year old aircraft like the PC9.
HARS will probably get a couple, but will only fly a handful of the remaining time left per year.
