I'm not sure of the 380, but I think the inflight charging is all USB. Some aircraft have 110v AC outlets scattered around the aircraft, but it's at the avionics bus frequency of 400Hz. Not suitable for normal chargers.
Does anyone know if there are charging facilities for laptops in Qantas A380 aircraft - this would have to be 240v not usb charging that phones use.
A friend is heading to the UK and wants to use his laptop to play games to help the 19 hours pass a bit quicker. The website says laptop charging is available but it also said it is available on the domestic link aircraft but it is not.
So anyone know if the A380 had charging suitable for laptops?
Thanks
Garry

Friend has now arrived in the UK - was advised by the airline that A380 and A330 all have wifi and all have usb changing and have laptop charging. Well no Wifi or laptop charging - usb for phones only. So the laptop died after a couple of hours so not able to watch preloaded movies or play games to fill in the remainder of the 19-20 hours.
Not really an issue but he was assured by airline staff these would be available - if they were not available then he would have taken heaps of magazines etc.
