It absolutely howled and sounded better IMO than the W196 Merc that Fangio was driving.
It had me transfixed.
The exhaust note of all IC engines is affected by the ignition sequence and hence the exhaust pulse sequence. Probably more noticeable on engines that have an exhaust manifold, as compared with an aircraft engine that just has stub exhaust pipes.
