we got 90,000 through the gates between the 2 days, the number of people there (as a head count) is a lot higher than that as children under 6, VIP's + families, contractor families, ADF families and about 2 hours of each day when ticketek wasnt working due to communications problem arent counted in.

if you think diesel at $1.65 is bad for a fuel price you probably dont want to know about the amount of fuel that was used up for the show but the 8 kias that were driving people around used up some 1500 liters of unleaded at the ADF price of $1 per liter and every time the F111's did a dump and burn each plane converted about $15000 of AvTur from fuel to noise and pollution for your enjoyment.

If you think that the Td5's fuel pump is impressive being able to flow about 60psi out of a 3/16th (ish) hole the pump that drops the fuel out the dump pipe of the F111 does it at 50Psi out of a 3 inch hole.

I was driving the truck that was delivering bottled water to the guys parking the cars out in the carpark guiding you guys around and all told they consumed over 3 tons of bottled water

Everyone so far thinks it was a great sucess.

Not sure whether we would have been counted in that number, they opened the gates for us at about 10 am. on the Saturday as it was taking too long to get through the gates. Had a great day, I am really going to miss those pigs flying around though.

    Cheers, Mick.

A few years back, in an upgrade to a chemical plant I worked on, we used a rocket fuel pump.

It had to pump high pressure (head). Was impressive tech for a multi-stage pump that spun small rotors at over 20,000 rpm (direct drive from water cooled elec motor) and very compact for the power.
