Hi all, been reading Jesusfreak's thread and rather than hijack his thread i would create a new one. Im seriously thinking of snapping up a cheap FL1 but Im still mildly worried about the 1.8L petrol engine and the 2.0L diesels are out of the budget i have set.

Jesusfreak has given one option for a different engine but what other engines would be suitable? Obviously it cant be a power house given the limitations of the strength of the gearbox but would a newer model Corrola or Ford Focus engine go in or something similar?
