    kv6 backfiring on back3

We need help. It has been a while since we have had to touch a freelander. The story is as follows.

Recieved a v6 freelander a couple of months a go to fix. The main timing belt slipped but we think the valves are ok, because the engine stopped immediatly and the customer was changing it from rev to first in the auto. So it was do idle revs.

Darwin Mitsubishi ripped half of it apart and tols customer new engine. We are trying to get it to fire since we have put all new belts on and realligned all the marks. If you turn it over by hand nothing is locking up and feels smooths. Turn with the key and it justs spins and doent try to fire after soo long it will blow flames out of the back 3 inlet manifold.

We got it in pieces so we dont know if everything is hooked up right. Can anyone help with this and also in what order are the font leads ment to sit as they seem wierd as they sitting 3-1-5 .

    Thanks
    Carla

These engines don't have any timing marks, they are all set by timing tools. So the marks that you aligned with are probably incorrect , which is why it is backfiring.
I'm sure the KV6 is a interference engine so it will have bent valves. Valves will bent with just the starter motor so a engine idling will bend them. You will need to do a compression test after timing is set correctly.
Yes the leads are correct. The front bank is your even bank so it should be 4-2-6.
