Diff has oil, not grease.
Garry
Hi Guys, I know most if not all the issues with the 1.8 K series engine have been addressed, but as I am the third owner, with the second owner only having the car for 20,000 kms I was wondering if there was any way to tell if the modifications to the motor have been done????? or should I take it to a land rover mechanic and ask them.
And just quickly, any one know if it is normal to have grease in my Diff rather than oil?
Cheers guys and thanks for all the help so far

I'd taste that grease for hints of banana, too....
The rear diff on these become noisy with neglect. It is entirely possible some idiot has added it to shut it up.
In regards the head gasket mods etc, no easy way to check, how many km's has it done?
JC
Yeah it tasted like banana with a hint of your a dag
It has done 83000, I have done the VCU heat test all ok and it looks new, was thinking it was replaced a little to late and caused gearbox damage and Diff dammage and that is why there is grease in it.
Thanks for the reply![]()
