    Lost drive to LHF wheel

A L series Freelander has been brought to me for repair that has lost drive.

The crown wheel in the IRD has had the teeth striped off it but none of the bearings had failed, on closer inspection I have found that the collar in the gear box that joins the IRD output shaft to the LHF drive shaft has striped.

I haven't stripped the gear box as yet but my question is, can that collar be replaced or do you need to replace the whole carrier in the gearbox?
I cant find the collar in the parts manual but that doesn't always mean that its not available.

Can't help - I thought you were the expert on FL1s.

If you don't know I doubt anyone here will know - I think you will have to pull it and work it out.

No point in getting Justinc's advice as he refuses to work in FL1s (sook) .

Good luck - glad it is you and not me.

I have only seen this once before and I got my hands on a real cheap 2nd hand box (it was for a 1.8 and the L had different ratios). Other than this I cant fault a PG1 gearbox, Very trouble free.

Is this the part? Some sites appear to think this number is a seat cover, unless that is just another name for a collar.

This site lists, as far as I know, all of the available parts. I have found it versy useful indeed. You should be able to click "Back to Navigation" to have a look at the rest of the gearbox.

Thanks but thats the collar for the main shaft, The collar I'm after is in the carrier TBM100070. If it was 2wd it would house the diff gears.
