    Immobiliser code error P1672

    Hi

Just nipped across the pond to see if any of you lot have suffered the same fault as me.

2001 v6. Reprogrammed another fob today and they all work. However, the keys still lock/unlock/alarm my hippo but they won't start the engine. Keys show up as being "used" in my hawkeye so they're connected/installed still. With my hippo locked, turning each key in the ignition will turn the ignition on and unlock all the doors. Engine turns over and my hawkeye tells me error code p1672 is now present and comes back after clearing it, when trying to restart the engine again. Immobilised count counts up each time in ma hawkeye. Battery is charged. Loads of fuel and the pump works. My hippo worked until today.

Been looking around the interweb and it seems the security code between the engine ecu (ems2000) and immobiliser (ews3d) needs to be re-synchronised.

    Any ideas?

Ant P code is not imobiliser, it should (by obd standards) relate to powertrain faults. However, P1672 is Engine anti-theft signal circuit wrong code received Secure ECM, received incorrect code in Land Rover speak. A quick search relates it to often fuse box circuit board failures.

So you may need to re-synch the ECU's or there could be a circuit fault powering one or the other in the fuse box.

    Thanks for your help.

Problem fixed now. The immobiliser needed to be synchronised to the engine computer. The P1672 code came up in the engine computer which means it's lost synchronisation with the immobiliser. Bad luck during fob programming - we're not sure why. All is ok now. It had to go to the main dealer for this to be done as I couldn't find anyone local with test book who was mobile and could solve the problem.
